Green ICT
- European Commission funded project reviewing the impacts of European and other international product-related environmental legislation (including WEEE, RoHS and EuP) on electronics SMEs in China, India and Thailand
- Reviewed the international electronics industry and supply chain management by multinationals (including conducting a survey of initiatives and issues faced in compliance)
- Assessing preparedness of Asian SME suppliers, especially for lead-free soldering on all products, and the costs of compliance
- Assessing the socio-economic impacts where suppliers fail to comply and needs for assistance
- Dissemination of information through conferences and workshops on product policy issues related to the electronics sector
- Survey & Innovation workshop for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment: Danish Association of Intermunicipal Waste Management Companies
Resource management
- Researched and drafted a Technical Report on Waste Wood recycling as part of the UK Environment Agency's Quality Protocols project to declassify waste where possible to reduce regulation and facilitate markets for the Environment Agency

Eco-design and product
- Integrated Product Policy: A range of projects related to Integrated Product Policy (IPP) and 'producer responsibility' in the electronics sector
- A review of IPP in various EC member states and the role of product policies, regulations and rating/labeling schemes in greenhouse gas abatement for the Japanese government
- Product environmental performance standards: convenor of ISO14006 and member of ISO and leader of BSI working groups on ISO TR 14062
- Study on sustainable public procurement as a potential driver for eco-innovation
- UK expert on ISO 14006-Environmental management systems-guide on Eco-design ( 2008~present)
- Eco-design/ product development: Developed tailored product scorecards, with a focus on embodied energy, greenhouse warming potential and toxicity, as a means to identify to customers the more sustainable and less carbon intensive products available
- Product take back: Implemented nationwide and European product takeback schemes for Toyota and Interface
- Supply chain: Developed a supplier sustainability programme in conjunction with The Natural Step
- Provided input to numerous Government advisory panels & task forces. Sustainable procurement advisor to the Strategic Supply Chain Group. Past Board Director of the UK Sustainable Investment & Finance Association (USKIF)
